About "The Missing Years".....

The Missing Years  is an acoustic duo made up of two of the most experienced performers in the Mid-Atlantic region. They perform a mix of original and cover materials tailored to connect with any age group. With over 100 combined years of professional performing experience they have mastered their craft and deliver their performances with a positive energy that is absolutely infectious.  Lynn Routzahn is the most prolific performing songwriter- singer/songwriter in the four state area. His collection of writings is available on Youtube, CD Baby, Amazon music, I-Tunes, and Spotify. One of his songs (“We Are The People”) won honorable mention in the 1994 Washington Area Songwriter’s Association in 1994 .Another song that he penned ("Deep in the Heart of Koresh"- a parody of the FBI debacle in Waco, Texas)  won at Baltimore's WIYY 98 ROCK's Bob River's "Twisted Tunes" contest.  The album “RedHawk:A Civil War Journal” was co-written with Ken Postalwait of Seguin Texas and is distributed worldwide on Amazon, I-Tunes, CD Baby etc.  and a new album of Postalwait's  prose set to Lynn's arrangements will be released soon... Lynn recently wrote the official song for the town of Keedysville’s  250th  anniversary.   Lynn  has performed for over 48 years everywhere from the “Dog Patch” to THE WHITE HOUSE (yes the one at 1600 PA Ave). He has performed with more than a few notable artists.  His incredible vocal ability and unique accomplished guitar style are beautifully presented. Energy and exuberance abound in his performance and the joy he emits is contagious! Add to all the above the bass talents of Mike  Jackson who  holds down the bottom end of “THE MISSING YEARS” duo playing a unique electric upright bass. Mike Jackson has performed all over THE WORLD for 52 years.  This includes performing early on at teen dances in the tri-state area; playing with his twin brothers_Kenny and Denny in the bands “Everybody’s Brother”, “Milk and Honey”, and “the Sunrise Band”; and traveling with “The Nancy Wiles Band” performing USO and DOD shows for our troops in Panama, Honduras, Spain, Turkey, Germany, and the Persian Gulf. Mike played thoughout the US and Europe with Deanna Bogart, performing with jazz and blues artists “Clark Terry and the Jazz Messengers”, Arturo Sandoval (Havana Cuba), B.B. King and the “Neville Brothers” in venues such as The Clearwater Jazz Festival, The  Monterey Jazz and Blues Festival , and The Hanover Jazz Festival in Germany. Mike recorded with Deanna at Jimmy Buffet’s Studio and on the compilation CD Margaritaville midnight Menu. Mike also has a Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) award that he received whikle working with Deanna. Mike is part of the band “Blitz Dynette” , an eight piece R&B group from Harrisburg PA performing in Las Vegas and has recently played with the “Average White Band”. Mike has recently performed at “Caberet” at the Capitol Theatre in Chambersburg PA and in “Odettess Caberet” in new Hope PA with actor, singer and songwriter John Brink. Mike is in his third year as staff band member on the Pennsylvania Opry in Mercersburg PA. He is an accomplished studio musician, recording locally in Washington DC, Baltimore MD, Key West FL, and Nashville TN. In Nashville he’s recorded with such talents as Steve Cummings, Brian Kennel, Jimmy Hall from “Wet Willie”, and Billy E. from Hank Williams Jr’s band.

Mike has performed with Lynn previously in the Hagerstown band “Skweez Play” and with their current offering “The Missing Years” this duo seems to be the perfect match as Mike and Lynn combine their immense talents and experience to bring what we’ve been missing all these years, hence, “The Missing Years”……………..
